Welcome to Castle Glen

Castle Glen Australia started its life in 1990 when the vines Chardonnay, Semillon, White Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and many alternative varieties - including Montepulciano - were planted at the Castle Glen Vineyard. In 1994, Cedric designed and built "The Castle" - an iconic building sitting in the heart of the Granite Belt. Having conquered the art of making Table Wine, Fortified Wine and Sparkling Wine (Technique Traditionelle), Cedric started making fruit wines using fruit from the local growers in the district.

Traditional English style Liqueurs and the 'World First' Crème Liqueurs followed to become a large part of the business through the late 1990's and early 2000's and now boasts a range of 500 plus truly unique products. Only the freshest naturally ripened fruit, the best quality nuts, chocolate, and spices are shipped into Castle Glen to make these taste sensations. Castle Glen has continued to diversify, and in 2009 became the first Brewery on the Granite Belt. The Castle Glen Distillery was established at the same time and can now boast to be the only Whiskey producer in Queensland.

Cedric has dedicated his efforts to an organic philosophy growing Castle Glen Vineyard's grapes without pesticides or synthetic sprays. Manufacturing products without chemicals and preservatives has been a focus from the beginning. Castle Glen Wines, Fortified Wines, Liqueurs, Beers and Distillery range are all 100% Natural, Chemical Free and Preservative Free - and definitely 'good' enough to drink.

The Castle Glen Story

Determined to create 100% All Natural Wines, Cedric Millar - Castle Glen's Master Winemaker - oversees all of the growing and production methods personally. Using only the grapes grown in Castle Glen's own Vineyard, Cedric produces wine with personality and allows the character of the season determine the final outcome of our wine.

He does not tamper with the wine by adding preservatives, chemicals or enhancers - Cedric encourages the grapes to proclaim their own beauty to the world. He says, "A truly great wine is made only of grapes!" Castle Glen's grapes are not sprayed with harmful pesticides, nor are they fed with artificial fertilizers. Our healthy, well-established grape vines are carefully tended, preened and pruned, well-fed and nourished using the best natural traditional methods available - and this alone ensures a bountiful harvest. At harvest time, all of our grapes are hand-picked.

Cedric says, "It is my personal mission to ensure Castle Glen Australia produces the best quality products for the best possible price. I don't want to create products with chemicals and preservatives that can make you sick. It is my aim for our customers to be able to drink as much of our products as they like without any nasty side-effects."
